CRDM CALLS FOR MORE APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITIES IN BUCKS

Following news that youth unemployment has risen to record levels, CRDM, the UK's longest established provider of rapid prototyping and rapid tooling services, is pleased to announce that it has recently employed an apprentice on its tooling team.

Martin James, Chairman of CRDM, comments:

‘At a time when youth unemployment levels are rising and further education is becoming an expensive option, we are pleased to have been able to offer an apprentice a place on our tooling team. Apprenticeships are a great way for young people to get valuable work experience and training and realistic view of the working world.

The appointment of a new apprentice and a new Sales Manager is just part of CRDM’s ambitious plans. The company continues expanding its operation despite the difficult economic climate and is planning to take on more staff over the coming months.

Martin goes on to say:

‘Apprenticeships are rare in engineering, especially in toolmaking, but we recognise that in the current economic climate providing opportunities even for one or two school leavers can make a difference. We are hoping to encourage more companies to follow our example.’

Founded in 1995, CRDM, based in High Wycombe, now employs a team of 40 highly skilled professionals and works across a wide range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, medical, defence and motor sport with a growing export base of customers.
