Guide for completing form

CRDM Rapid Tooling Quotation

In order for CRDM to provide a quick and accurate quote to meet your injection mould tooling requirements please download, complete and faxback the "Customer Tooling Spec" form or fill in the online form below.

The specification and manufacture of mould tools can be complex, but if the information requested is available early in the project an appropriate tooling solution can be presented more effectively, leading to quicker and smoother running tooling project.

In order to ensure customer expectations are met,and mis-understandings avoided, the "Tooling Terms and Conditions" are provided to inform the customer of the terms under which CRDM undertakes tooling projects. This document also includes details about tool life, materials and mould sampling. For help on completing the form, use our Completing tool requirement form guide.

Tooling Terms and Conditions:

1 CRDM undertakes to supply tools manufactured to the correct dimensions as
indicated by the clients CAD, incorporating typical shrinkage indicated by the
manufacturers data for the specified plastic.
2 The suitability of the component design for the moulding process remains the
responsibility of the client, unless explicit alternative arrangements are made.
3 CRDM may be able to advise where warpage or sinkage due to part geometry
could be of concern. Tool correction arising from warpage/shrinkage problems
due to part geometry will be charged separately.
4 CRDM undertake to deliver the tooling on the specified date. However, such
delivery is not guaranteed.
5 Any part errors arising from errors made by CRDM will be corrected in a timely
manner, free of charge to the client.
6 During the moulding process, tool wear will slowly occur leading to a finite life
for a mould tool. A guide to life expectancy of particularly tool types, based on
auto running tool without side actions is as follows:
DM20 Sintered bronze up to 30000 cycles
Aluminium up to 30000 cycles
DS20 Sintered steel up to 100000 cycles
P20 steel up to 200000 cycles
Hardened steel tooling 250000+ cycles
These figures are extremely approximate, and tools with mechanisms and
particularly loose manual inserts or filled materials may have much shorter life
spans.
7 Insert only tooling will require a CRDM standard bolster to enable tooling to be
used outside CRDM. Prices on request.
8 Samples are limited to 10 mouldings of an individual part unless other
arrangements are made.
9 Design changes to components after tool design has commenced may be
charged for and could delay delivery of tool or mouldings.
10 Where over moulded inserts are used in moulding it should be expected that a
number will be used during tool trialling over and above the quantity of samples
to be supplied.
11 CRDM reserves the right to change the tool specification to one with a similar
capability without notification to suit manufacturing requirements (i.e. DM20 to
aluminium) at no cost to the client. The tool performance will not be
downgraded.
12 CRDM reserves the right to re-quote moulding prices after completion of the
tool trials.
13 CRDM reserves the right to request payment of a 30% deposit at its' discretion
on receipt of a tooling order.
These conditions are in addition to CRDM Ltd standard Terms and Conditions.
CRDM 2005
The items are designed to clarify typical issues and frequently asked questions relating to the
purchase of injection mould tooling services from CRDM.
