Blow Moulding
CRDM can partner you from early concept
stages of your design with CNC
machined solid 3D form models to hollow 'looks-like' models through
SLA, SLS
and low volume manufacture (15-20 off) in polyurethane from silicone
tooling (SMT) in transparent, semi or opaque resins.
Market research, filling line trials, product
testing, and special runs require a different solution however,
and always in a very short lead-time.
CRDM offer prototype and small to medium scale production moulds,
and we can achieve delivery of small quantities of mouldings (typically
up to 1000) within 2 weeks from receipt of CAD.
This is made possible by the use of DMLS
(Direct Metal Laser Sintering) technology.
By using this layer-build process any form or geometry can be generated.
This enables us to create neck finishes, flash relief pockets, knifing
edges, guide bush holes, and conformal water cooling channels in
one 24 hour operation, eliminating any post machining. The implications
of this generally means shaving 1-2 weeks off your development cycle,
allowing design decisions to be made earlier and consequently having
your product ready for market faster.
The surface finish of the mould cavities can
be made to replicate those available by conventional mould-making
processes Tool life is equivalent to that obtained using hard aluminium
alloys, which means that several hundred thousand mouldings can
be produced before any refurbishment is required.
At you disposal we have six blow moulding machines capable of producing bottles up to 2 litres, and these
are available for small, medium and large scale production as well
as development work.
