Rapid Tooling - Aluminium & Steel Tooling

Two fast track routes are available at CRDM catering for pre-production, prototype , low and high volume injection mould tooling , Aluminium/Steel and DMLS ( Direct Metal Laser Sintering ).

CNC Machined Aluminium and Steel Tooling is generally used for larger or more demanding tooling projects. Various surface finishes can be applied to the tool surface, spark, textures etc.

Tools can be designed to run either fully automatic or have manually released inserts for low volume or prototype runs
Tool life is around 15-20,000 components in ABS type materials and 5,000 for filled polymers from aluminium, and 250,000 up to 1million+ in P20 and hardened steel
Tool Capacity 600mm x 500mm x 800mm
Typical lead times are 3-4 weeks
In-house moulding facility up to 80 tonnes
